Credits

How usage is counted, and how you stay in control of cost.

AI models charge for the text they read and write. CodeStilt turns that into credits: 1 credit = $0.005 of AI usage. Planning and doing a task use credits; reading plans, approving, watching progress and undoing are free.

Estimate first

Every plan shows the estimated credits before you approve. The real amount is shown on the task and on Usage and billing.

Free tries

If a task is stopped after 3 failed test runs, the credits for those tries are returned.

Hard cap

When your monthly credits run out, tasks pause. You are never charged more than your plan. You'll get an alert at your chosen level (80% by default).

Rollover

On paid plans, unused plan credits roll over for one month. Extra credits we add for you last 60 days.

Monthly period

Your credits reset every 30 days from when your period started.
