Undo and checkpoints
Every task can be put back.
Before a task changes anything, the desktop app copies every file it may change into a checkpoint on your computer. Checkpoints are kept for 7 days.
Undo a task
- On the task page: Undo all.
- In a terminal:
codestilt undo 42(the task number).
Undo restores each changed file exactly as it was and deletes only the files that task created itself. Nothing else is touched.
When undo isn't possible
- The task is more than 7 days old: checkpoints are kept for 7 days.
- The checkpoint was deleted from the computer (for example the CodeStilt data folder was removed).
- The task ran on a different computer that is now unlinked.
Undo and Git
Undo works with or without Git. It doesn't create commits and never runs git reset.
