Using the desktop app
Every part of the desktop app's screen, explained.
The desktop app opens in your browser at a private address on your own computer (127.0.0.1). Only your computer can open it, protected by a secret key in a cookie.
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status (top right) | Connected, Connecting, Paused or Not linked. |
| Account | The computer's name and your email. Unlink removes the link on this computer. |
| Folders CodeStilt may work in | Add or remove allowed folders. |
| Protection | Shows the danger wall is on. Pause all work stops tasks on this computer. Open dashboard opens app.codestilt.com. Start with my computer runs CodeStilt when you sign in. |
| Activity | What the app did recently: connections, tasks, blocked commands. |
Running without the window
Closing the browser tab doesn't stop CodeStilt. To run it with no window at all, for example on a server, use codestilt agent.
Pausing
Pause all work (or codestilt pause) finishes nothing new on this computer until you resume. You can also pause a computer from the dashboard.
