Link your computer
Connect a computer to your account, safely.
- Open the desktop app and click Link this computer (or run
codestilt link). - Your browser opens
app.codestilt.com/linkand shows the computer's name, its system and a code likeKQ7-4ZP. - Check the code matches the one in the app, then click Link.
Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once. The computer receives its own access key. On Windows it is encrypted with the system's data protection; on macOS and Linux it is kept in a file only your user can read.
Never link a code you didn't start yourself. If someone sends you a code and asks you to approve it, they are trying to link their computer to your account. If the link page says the request came from a different network, be extra careful.

Rename a computer
In the dashboard, open Computers and rename it. The desktop app shows the new name the next time it connects.
Remove a computer
Computers, then Remove. Its access key stops working immediately. Do this at once if a laptop is lost or stolen.
