Troubleshooting

Fixes for the problems people hit most.

My computer shows offline

Check the desktop app is open (or codestilt agent is running). Status should say Connected.
Run codestilt status. It shows your account, folders and the connection.
On a company network, set the proxy in Network and proxy.

The sign-in email didn't arrive

Check spam. Links expire after 15 minutes and work once. You can ask for 5 links per 15 minutes per address; after that, wait and try again.

"Choose one of the folders this computer allows"

Add the folder in the desktop app, or run codestilt allow PATH, then refresh the dashboard.

"This folder is too broad"

CodeStilt refuses your whole home folder, a drive root, and system folders. Choose the project folder itself.

Tests keep failing

After 3 failed tries the task stops and those tries are free. Check the test output on the task page. Often the project needs a setup step first (for example npm install); run it yourself, then try again.

A task is stuck on "Danger wall question"

Open the task and choose Allow once or Block. You can answer from your phone too.

Windows says "Windows protected your PC"

Until our code-signing certificate is in place, Windows SmartScreen may show this for new downloads. Check the file came from download.codestilt.com, compare its SHA-256 with checksums.txt, then click More info and Run anyway.

"You have no credits left this month"

Wait for the next month, upgrade, or ask us for extra credits. See Credits.
